Mischievous girl group Stooshe having been shaking their dirty rhymes and flamboyant rhythms across the internet with a genuinely fresh approach to pop music. Since their provocative single ‘Fuck Me’ emerged in March 2011, supported by an equally raucous music video partly shot on East London’s Brick Lane, Warner Music have expressed their intrigue with a record deal to support their debut album for 2012.

Anticipating their next single ‘Betty Woz Gone’, I met Courtney, Karis & Alexandra at Warner’s office for a candid conversation about ballet, Dappy and my limited knowledge of South London slang.

Since discovering her emotive single ‘Blank Canvas’, released May 2011, Jodie Marie’s rich, soulful vocals have stayed with me. It appears I’m not the only one; Will Young invited her to support him on his 2011 Autumn tour. Yet Jodie hasn’t sauntered casually into the limelight. Her lyrical vision began with hiding notes in a shoe box as a young girl and she’s been actively recording since 2007.

With hushed rumours swirling around the BBC Sound Of 2012, we met Jodie with her European tour, the St. Pancras Old Church and her forthcoming debut album on our minds.
